A nice portion of top news in the NFL has recently surrounded retired running back Marshawn Lynch.

It all started when Lynch was reportedly spotted wearing Oakland Raiders gear while supposedly requesting a release from the Seattle Seahawks. Since, several conflicting reports have surfaced as to whether or not Lynch plans to return to playing football.

Shedding a bit of light from the Seahawks’ camp is general manager John Schneider who had this to say about his knowledge on Lynch.

“I talk to his representatives all the time. They have a ton of players. Marshawn, what I can tell you is he’s on reserve/retired as a Seattle Seahawk right now. And that’s where it stands. It kind of took off like wildfire for one weekend, Schneider said per ESPN’s Sheil Kapadia.”

Lynch has been tied to the Raiders on more than one occasion. It appears if he wants to play, it would strictly be for Oakland. At one point, Lynch’s manager said he had yet to discuss a return to the league with Lynch. But, he did say he knows Beastmode misses playing football.

As Schneider stated, the Lynch story was kind of like a wildfire for a short period of time. Now that fire seems to be under control. If Lynch does decide to speak up publicly on his thoughts, all ears will be listening, and hopefully a concrete decision will be made.

In order for Lynch to play for the Raiders, the Seahawks would need to release or trade him. According to Schneider, that does not seem to be in the immediate plans.
