The NFL playoffs TV viewership numbers continue to blow away expectations this year.
San Francisco’s 24-21 win over the Green Bay Packers Saturday on Fox was the most-watched sports event on a Saturday since the 1994 Winter Olympics.
The game saw an average of 37.5 million viewers and peaked at 40.9 near the end of the game.

Fox is projecting the game to be the most-watched NFL Divisional Round game ever and the most-watched Saturday event in the history of the network.
Viewership for Saturday’s game was up 31% over last year’s game in the same time frame, the Philadelphia Eagles 38-7 win over the New York Giants got 28.6 million viewers.
