Sam Bradford Reaching Out Trying to Recruit DeMarco Murray

New Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford already seems to be recruiting his former roommate at the University of Oklahoma.

DeMarco Murray still remains the NFL’s top free agent just slightly 24 hours after the free market opened. Bradford had this to say about his attempts to sway Murray to the team.

Absolutely. I’ve been trying my hardest. I’ve called him. I’ve texted him. I’ve done everything. We’ve been in communication. If we can somehow land him, it would be a great pickup. Not only is he a great player, he’s a great person. He’s a really close friend of mine, too. I think he can really help this ball club.

It is reported that Murray himself has reached out to Eagles’ head coach Chip Kelly Wednesday morning.

While the Eagles did recently sign Ryan Mathews to a three-year deal, this hasn’t stopped their pursuit of the Cowboys running back.

If it all boils down to money, Kelly has publicly made it known that the team intends to practice fiscal responsibility. Of course, go ahead and tell that to Sam Bradford and Byron Maxwell.

Regarding Murray, who is looking for a deal of at least $8 million per year, he knows where things currently stand with the Cowboys. Whether the Eagles will dig this deep into their pockets will be found out soon enough.
