Saints star Alvin Kamara is now a NASCAR fan after Confederate flag ban

New Orleans Saints star running back Alvin Kamara shared on Twitter Sunday that he’s headed to his first NASCAR race at the Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Kamara posted a short video and said he’d be showing up on the NASCAR page, “doing a little something.”

Kamara was also rocking Bubba Wallace gear. The African-American racer has been outspoken recently for the Black Lives Matter movement. He raced last Wednesday in an awesome custom Black Lives Matter No. 43 car, and he’s been wearing a shirt that reads “I Can’t Breathe.”

Alvin Kamara getting with NASCAR as ‘a direct result’ of Confederate flag ban

Last week, NASCAR made an announcement that rocked the sports world — banning the Confederate flag from all events and races. One NASCAR racer announced he is quitting because of it.

The announcement is also the “direct” reason Kamara is on his way to Homestead, Fla. this Sunday.

I’d say this was a net positive for NASCAR.
