Drew Brees is about to get another top-end target in New Orleans. According to this report from Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Saints are nearing a deal with Pro Bowl tight end Jared Cook.
If this deal were to go down, it would be an absolutely major get for New Orleans. After struggling with consistency earlier in his career, the 31-year-old Cook has picked it up big time recently.
The tight end recorded 68 receptions for 896 yards and six touchdowns for the Oakland Raiders last season — each representing a team high in the process.
With veteran tight end Ben Watson having called it quits on his career, the Saints were in the market for another pass catcher. They are now close to getting the best tight end on the market.
