Ryan Clark calls Aaron Donald the ‘Michael Jordan of football’

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald is the best defensive player in the NFL. He’s also a generational talent who is redefining what it means to be dominant inside.

And according to Ryan Clark, a former NFL player now plying his trade as an analyst for ESPN, Donald is also the “Michael Jordan of football.”

It’s a pretty bold statement, to be sure.

Jordan was legendary for his ability to elevate his game on the grandest stage. While Donald has put together a legendary stretch since entering the NFL a few years back, it’s hard to say he’s at that level.

In fact, during the Super Bowl last year Donald was unable to affect the outcome even while having a big impact up front.

Granted, he is only one of 11 defenders and was going against arguably the greatest quarterback to ever play in Tom Brady. But the term “the Michael Jordan of” anything really should be all about legendary play during legendary moments.

To this point, Donald hasn’t accomplished enough to warrant that comparison.
