Russell Wilson: Odds he could got to the Raiders

What better way to stick it to your rival than to take their quarterback? Well, take their quarterback and beat them with him, that would be better.

That might just be what the Las Vegas Raiders do this offseason.

It seems clear that Russell Wilson will not be with the Denver Broncos and it just so happens that the Raiders are in the market for a starter. Could this be a match made in Al Davis heaven?

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, an NFL insider told him that Wilson would end up with the Raiders if the Broncos released him.

“(The Raiders) need a vet, and they are one of Wilson’s original teams he wanted to go to,” the executive said. “He’d stay in the (AFC West), West Coast, and (Wilson’s wife) Ciara can do a (Las Vegas) residency (as a live performer).”

Wilson playing for the Raiders would be one of the biggest storylines for the NFL going into the season.

As Sportsnaut’s Andrew Buller-Russ wrote: “Wilson’s arrival would be a sight for sore eyes for Davante Adams, who is eager to get back to the playoffs after reaching the postseason six times in his eight years in Green Bay. Meanwhile, he’s yet to experience that same success in Vegas. Adding a QB like Wilson may not be the long-term solution the Raiders desperately want, but considering the alternatives, he may be the best player available.”

The key would be who the Raiders hire for offensive coordinator. There have been some reports of interviewees not high on the list of fan favorites.
