The cupcake has been surpassed.

Following his 57-point performance against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night, Russell Westbrook has now crossed the 40-point plateau a whopping 15 times this season.

That breaks the Oklahoma City Thunder’s franchise record for most 40-point games in a season. The man he replaces on this list is no other than current Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant.

Eventually, Westbrook would hit the 50-point mark while sending the game to overtime with a buzzer-beater to end regulation.

If that weren’t enough, Westbrook ended up tallying 57 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists en route to yet another triple-double. He joins James Harden as the only player in NBA history to put up multiple 50-point triple-double performances in the same season.

We know this one specific record has to feel food for Westbrook. He’s not necessarily kept quiet about his feelings for Durant after the latter departed for the conference-rival Warriors during the summer. At the very least, he can stake claim to this one minor victory.

It also came in a thrilling win over the Orlando Magic. That surely has to feel good for the MVP candidate.
