The Colorado Rockies placed shortstop Trevor Story on the 10-day injured list ahead of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Story left the second game of Thursday’s doubleheader against the New York Mets with right elbow inflammation. The IL designation is retroactive to Friday.

First baseman Matt Adams (shin contusion) was activated from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Story is batting .255 with five homers and 23 RBIs in 50 games this season.

The six-year veteran is two RBIs shy of 400 for her career. A two-time All-Star, he has smacked 139 career homers, including a high of 37 in 2018.

Adams, 32, is batting .105 (2-for-19) in 12 appearances this season.
