Houston Rockets big man Christian Wood missed Wednesday night’s road game against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to left knee tendinitis.

Rockets coach Stephen Silas told reporters prior to the game that Wood will also likely miss Thursday’s home against the New York Knicks as well.
Wednesday’s game was the first Wood has missed this season.

“He has been kind of managing his knee for a little while and playing through it,” Silas said of Wood. “He tweaked it, or it just got to a point where the pain was not necessarily unbearable, but really becoming an issue.”

Wood sat out the fourth quarter and played just 25 minutes during Monday’s 132-126 road win over the Atlanta Hawks. He had 12 points and five rebounds.

Overall, the 26-year-old Wood leads the Rockets in scoring (16.5) and rebounding (11.1).
