Former first-round pick Robert Nkemdiche was arrested a couple weeks ago for speeding and driving on a suspended license, Bob McManaman shared on Wednesday.

The Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman is entering the fourth year of his career and is slated to earn $1.12 million in 2019. He had a previous arrest on record, going back to his college days.

Arizona recently declined to pick up his fifth-year option, meaning Nkemdiche will be a free agent following the 2019 season.

Highly touted coming out of Ole Miss, Nkemdiche has never lived up to his first-round billing, starting just six games in his first three seasons as a pro. Nkemdiche has appeared in 26 games, tallying 44 tackles and 4.5 sacks.

Already on the roster bubble heading into training camp, this arrest won’t help Nkemdiche’s cause.
