It didn’t take long after trading for Rob Gronkowski before the future Hall of Fame tight end impacted ticket sales and started working out with his new teammates. Now, Gronkowski and the Buccaneers are teaming up for an incredible cause in the local community.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Rob Gronkowski donate to Blake High School’s football team

At a time when teams should be preparing for the upcoming season, football players at Blake High School in Tampa are without their equipment. A fire in May delivered a crushing blow to the football team, wiping out their practice dummies, gear and other equipment.

When Gronkowski and the Buccaneers heard about the fire, they decided to step up. On Wednesday, Gronkowski announced that his foundation is partnering with the team to replace everything lost in the fire.

Receiving any financial support would have been great for the high school, but Gronk and the Buccaneers are going even beyond that. Better yet, based on the video, it seems the young student-athletes might also get the chance to meet the NFL icon.

Sports fans in Tampa were already excited about the upcoming season with Tom Brady and Gronk joining the squad. Now seeing how these two stars will also help the community, the appreciation will be even stronger this season.
