Tyler Huntley is expected to be the starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday when they play a crucial road game against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to multiple reports.
Lamar Jackson hasn’t practiced the past two weeks due to an injured right ankle. It is unlikely Jackson will be available, though the club did list him as questionable on Friday’s injury report.
Huntley missed Friday’s practice with a non-COVID illness. The Ravens also listed him as questionable.
Huntley would be making his third career start. He started last week’s 31-30 loss to the Green Bay Packers when Jackson was sidelined and he passed for 215 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 73 yards and two scores.
Huntley is 86 of 125 (68.8 percent) for 743 yards, three touchdowns and one interception this season.
Veteran journeyman Josh Johnson would be the backup behind Huntley.
The Ravens also activated safety Chuck Clark and backup center Trystan Colon from the COVID-19 list on Friday, leaving 10 players from the 53-man roster still in protocols. Practice squad running back Nate McCrary also was removed from the COVID-19 list.
Also, guard Ben Powers (foot) was ruled out of the contest against Cincinnati while wideout Devin Duvernay and guard Tyre Phillips (knee) are doubtful. Seven players are listed as questionable, including standout defensive tackle Calais Campbell (thigh), fullback Patrick Ricard (knee) and outside linebacker Odafe Oweh.
The Ravens (8-6) and Bengals (8-6) are tied for first place in the AFC North with the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6-1) and Cleveland Browns (7-7) in close pursuit. Cincinnati won the first meeting 41-17 on Oct. 24 at Baltimore.
