Reports: Nuggets, Wizards ironing out four-player trade

The Denver Nuggets and Washington Wizards are finalizing a four-player trade, multiple outlets reported Wednesday.

The Nuggets would send guard Monte Morris and swingman Will Barton to the Wizards in exchange for guards Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith, per the reports.

Morris, 27, averaged 12.6 points, 4.4 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 75 games (74 starts) during his fifth season with Denver in 2021-22.

Barton, 31, averaged 14.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 71 games (all starts) in his 10th NBA campaign. He has been with the Nuggets since February 2015.

Caldwell-Pope, 29, averaged 13.2 points and 3.4 rebounds and shot 39.0 percent from 3-point range in 77 games (all starts) in his first season with the Wizards in 2021-22.

Smith, who turns 34 next week, averaged 6.3 points, 3.8 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 65 games (one start) between Washington and the Charlotte Hornets last season. The Nuggets would be his record-setting 13th NBA team.
