Reports: Nets finalizing trade to send Kessler Edwards to Kings

The Brooklyn Nets and Kings are finalizing a trade that will send second-year forward Kessler Edwards to Sacramento, The Athletic and ESPN reported Tuesday.

Edwards, who has split time this season between the Nets and their G League affiliate Long Island, is averaging 1.1 points per game in 14 contests (one start) this season in Brooklyn.

He played in 48 games (23 starts) as a rookie last season and averaged 5.9 points per game.

The Nets will save a total of $8 million with the move, opening up a roster spot as well.

The Kings intend to send Edwards to their G League affiliate in Stockton, Calif.

Edwards was a second-round pick (44th overall) out of Pepperdine in 2021.
