Reports: Nationals signing Dominic Smith to 1-year deal

The Washington Nationals have agreed to terms with free agent infielder/outfielder Dominic Smith on a one-year deal, multiple outlets reported Tuesday.

The deal is for $2 million with another $2 million available in performance bonuses, per the reports.

Smith, 27, has spent his entire career with the New York Mets organization. A first-round draft pick by the Mets in 2013, Smith batted .246/.308/.424 with 46 home runs and 179 RBIs in six seasons with the Mets.

Smith appeared in 187 games at first base and 182 games in left field for the Mets.
