The Miami Dolphins are signing cornerback Eli Apple to a one-year deal, NFL Network and ESPN reported Saturday.
Financial terms of the deal were not reported.
The signing comes in the wake of Jalen Ramsey’s knee injury. Ramsey had surgery to fully repair his meniscus after he was injured during Thursday’s practice, and the procedure will force him to miss the start of the season.
Apple, 27, made 49 tackles and had eight passes defended in 15 games (all starts) with the Cincinnati Bengals last season.
In 88 career games (78 starts) with the New York Giants (2016-18), New Orleans Saints (2018-19), Carolina Panthers (2020) and Bengals (2021-22), Apple has recorded 335 tackles, five interceptions, seven fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles.
