The Cincinnati Bengals are poised to promote quarterbacks coach Dan Pitcher to offensive coordinator, NFL Network and The Athletic reported Wednesday.

Pitcher would replace Brian Callahan, who was named head coach by the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday.

Pitcher, 37, has been with the Bengals for eight seasons. He started as an offensive assistant under former head coach Marvin Lewis and was promoted to quarterbacks coach by Zac Taylor in 2020.

At least four other teams requested to interview Pitcher for their offensive coordinator position, including the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders. Lewis is expected to join the new staff of Antonio Pierce in Las Vegas.
