The Los Angeles Angels reached a deal with outfielder Aaron Hicks, who is being paid $19 million by the New York Yankees over the next two seasons.
Multiple outlets reported the signing on Monday. The Angels only have to pay Hicks the league minimum.
The Yankees released Hicks in May after signing him to a seven-year, $70 million contract extension in 2019.
Hicks, 34, was signed by Baltimore four days after his release and went on to hit .275 with seven home runs in 65 games. He was hitting .188 when the Yankees released him.
Hicks is a career .233 hitter with 108 home runs and 387 RBIs in 963 games with the Minnesota Twins (2013-15), Yankees (2016-23) and Orioles.
