Report: Yankees top prospect Chance Adams to make debut on Saturday

On Saturday, New York Yankees top prospect Chance Adams will get the opportunity he has been waiting for. The right-handed pitching prospect is set to make his MLB debut and it couldn’t come in a bigger moment.

According to Joel Sherman of MLB Network, Adams has been informed he will be called up to start on Saturday against the Boston Red Sox.

For the 23-year-old, it will be an opportunity to prove himself on one of the biggest stages in all of sports. Adams will toe the rubber against New York’s biggest rival and surrounded by thousands of rival fans at Fenway Park.

Ranked as New York’s No. 14 prospect by MLB.com, Adams has encountered his share of struggles this season with Triple-A Scranton. In 21 starts, the righty recorded a 1.32 WHIP and 4.50 ERA, though he has struck out 102 batters in 98 innings.

This is expected to just be a spot start for Adams, so he will likely return to the minors after Saturday’s game.
