Report: Wizards aggressively looking to trade Otto Porter Jr.

Despite what Washington Wizards owner Ted Leonsis might want us to believe, the team is reportedly looking to move a core piece ahead of Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.

According to this report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Washington has “has become aggressive in trade talks” to move wing Otto Porter Jr.

Signed to a four-year, $106.5 million deal back in July of 2017, the former No. 3 overall pick just has not panned out in the nation’s capital.

Porter is averaging 12.6 points and 5.6 rebounds on 46 percent shooting from the field this year. These numbers represent substantial regression from the previous two seasons.

It remains to be seen if anyone would want to take on Porter’s contract. But he is still only 25 years old and boasts a nice amount of upside.
