Report: Warriors sign former Lakers G Nick Young

Nick Young

The Golden State Warriors continue to make moves to improve a roster that won the NBA title back in June. A day after reportedly signing Omri Casspi to a vet minimum deal, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Golden State has signed veteran guard Nick Young.

It comes in the form of the team’s mid-level exception of $5.2 million.

Young bolsters Golden State’s second unit in an absolutely big way. Last season saw him average 13.2 points and shoot 40 percent form three-point range for the Lakers.

He joins a second unit that already consists of Shaun Livingston, Andre Iguodala, David West, Patrick McCaw and the aforementioned Casspi.

Some might question Young’s fit on the Warriors. But here’s a team that has not had a reliable scorer of his ilk on the bench during its three consecutive runs to the NBA Finals. Golden State now has that.
