The Golden State Warriors had to know that the only way they were going to be able to land Kevin Love would be to add up-and-coming guard Klay Thompson to the mix in a potential deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves. According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, that’s exactly what the Warriors have done.
ESPN sources say Golden State has indeed made Klay Thompson available to Wolves, greatly increasingly Warriors' hopes of getting Kevin Love

It’s been assumed that the best Warriors offer would include David Lee, Harrison Barnes and Thompson. If that’s indeed what they decide to offer for the Timberwolves All-Star, this is a deal that could get done.
Minnesota would then likely have to add Kevin Martin to the mix in a potential deal in order to give the Warriors a stopgap option at shooting guard and make the money work. No draft picks would be exchanged in a potential deal between the two clubs.
