Trinity Rodman keeps reaching new goals.

A year into her National Women’s Soccer League career, the Washington Spirit star signed a new deal Wednesday through the 2024 season that is worth $1.1 million, according to the Washington Post. The deal, which can be extended to a fourth year with a team option, reportedly is the biggest in NWSL history.

Rodman’s new deal with the Spirit is well above her initial NWSL contract, a three-year deal averaging $42,000 in base salary that she signed upon being drafted. The NWSL maximum salary is $75,000 next season, but that can be increased for individual players with allocation money provided by the league.

The 19-year-old daughter of NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman is coming off a stellar first season with the Spirit, when she recorded seven goals and seven assists to earn NWSL Rookie of the Year and U.S. Soccer Young Player of the Year honors.

“We’re excited to re-sign Trinity and continue to support her development as a player,” Spirit President Ben Olsen said in a statement. “She has accomplished a great deal early in her career and our focus is to provide the right environment for her to reach her potential.”

Rodman helped the Spirit win the NWSL title last season during a turbulent campaign. Last September, following an investigation by the league, the Spirit fired head coach Richie Burke after players alleged he verbally and emotionally abused them. In addition, Spirit players were successful in their push to have majority owner Steve Baldwin sell his stake to co-owner Y. Michele Kang.

Rodman’s freshman season at Washington State was canceled by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but the Newport Beach, Calif., native still was the No. 2 overall pick in the NWSL Draft, becoming the youngest player in league history.

Rodman will participate with the U.S. Women’s National Team in the SheBelieves Cup, Feb. 17-23, before kicking off her second season with the Spirit with the Challenge Cup on March 19.
