Report: Tony Parker expected to need season-ending surgery

Tony Parker

The San Antonio Spurs are likely to be without point guard Tony Parker the rest of the way in the playoffs after he suffered an injury Wednesday night.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, Parker will likely need season-ending surgery to repair damage to his left leg.

Parker scored 18 points before exiting Game 2 on Wednesday night with the severe injury.

After the game, Gregg Popovich said of Parker’s injury, “it’s not good.” This new report backs that notion up 100 percent.

Now the onus falls on Patty Mills to pick up the slack and be the guy for San Antonio, which is now tied 1-1 with the Houston Rockets in the second round of the playoffs. Parker’s injury leaves a void of leadership, but if any team can absorb losing one of its star players it’s the Spurs.
