The New York Knicks are playing out yet another lost season under interim head coach Mike Miller after firing David Fizdale earlier in the season.

New York heads into the unofficial second half of the season with a 17-38 record and has been a complete laughingstock.

Already looking ahead to the offseason, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported on Wednesday that former Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau is a serious candidate for the Knicks’ head-coaching job.

Thibodeau, 58, was fired by the Timberwolves midway through last season. He has earned six NBA playoff appearances in parts of eight seasons as a head coach, five of them coming with the Chicago Bulls.

He fits what the Knicks are said to be looking for in a head coach. That is to say, someone with experience.
