Report: Titans to sign CB Malcolm Butler to five-year, $61 million deal

The Tennessee Titans reportedly have upgraded their secondary in a big way adding former New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler to the fold.

Butler will be re-joining former teammate Logan Ryan in Tennessee’s secondary, and as Adam Schefter notes also is familiar to Mike Vrabel and Jon Robinson.

The Patriots infamously refused to play Butler for a single down on defense in Super Bowl LII, and there has been plenty of speculation about why that occurred. What we did know after that was that the cornerback would certainly be headed elsewhere in free agency. Now he’s landed with the Titans, who are certainly contenders in the AFC.

In four years with the Patriots, Butler racked up eight interceptions, 50 pass break-ups, two sacks and four forced fumbles.
