Report: Timberwolves sign Jeff Teague to three-year, $57 million deal

The Minnesota Timberwolves have their point guard for the long haul: Jeff Teague. At the onset of free agency on Friday morning, Teague signed with the Timberwolves for three years and $57 million, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN (yes, that feels weird to type).

After they traded Ricky Rubio to the Utah Jazz earlier. This signing gives Minnesota a fourth member its starting five for the upcoming season: Teague, Jimmy Butler, Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns. As of now, the power forward spot is up for grabs, though Nemanja Bjelica is likely the early frontrunner.

In any case, this is a pretty impressive group, especially with Tom Thibodeau coaching. Given that the Timberwolves can still get better over the coming days, it would be very surprising now if they didn’t make their first playoff appearance since 2004.
