Report: Saquon Barkley seeking second opinion from noted surgeon for ankle injury

Saquon Barkley is out at least four-to-six weeks with a dreaded high-ankle sprain, but the New York Giants star is seeking a second opinion on the ankle injury.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported Tuesday that Barkley will see specialist Dr. Robert Anderson on Wednesday for an additional opinion.

This could mean that Barkley wonders if surgery is the best course of action. Dr. Anderson is a foot specialist based out of Green Bay. He is known for specializing in Sports Medicine and ankle surgeries.

One of the best running backs in the NFL today, Barkley followed up his stellar rookie season with some excellent performances early this year. Before getting injured Sunday against Tampa Bay, the running back had tallied 311 yards and a touchdown from scrimmage in 2019.
