The New Orleans Saints were dealt a major blow on Friday with news that star left tackle Terron Armstead will have to undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum. The surgery will reportedly take place on Monday and should sideline him four-to-six months.

This is some horrible news for the Saints, who had been relying on Armstead to hold down the fort as Drew Brees’ blindside protector. With him out of action, Zach Strief will likely move to the left side. Rookie first-round pick Ryan Ramczyk will also be in the mix at right tackle.

Armstead is considered one of the best left tackles in the game. The timeline for his return could have him back on the field in late October.
