Report: Rutgers firing head coach Chris Ash following shutout loss to Michigan

Following a 1-3 start and a brutal 52-0 loss to Michigan in Week 5, Rutgers head football coach Chris Ash is being fired, per Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports.

Rutgers opened the season with a win over UMass, but then followed that up with three consecutive losses to Iowa, Boston College and Michigan in which the Scarlet Knights were outscored 112-16.

Ash was hired ahead of the 2016 season. In three-plus seasons at the helm of the Rutgers football program, he went 8-32, including 3-26 in conference play. Even more damning, the program has gone 2-14 since the start of the 2018 season.
