Report: Russell Wilson wanted Antonio Brown as multiple teams show interest

Antonio Brown arrest

We have not seen the Antonio Brown saga play out to its fullest as of yet. Despite facing multiple allegations of sexual assault, Brown is still looking to return to the NFL.

This comes after both the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots released the Pro Bowler over the past couple months.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the above-mentioned allegations and Brown’s odd recent actions have not scared some teams off.

Schefter notes that the Seattle Seahawks showed interest in Brown before claiming fellow troubled veteran Josh Gordon off waivers on Friday. The report notes that Russell Wilson pushed for Seattle to sign the pass catcher. It also states that a few teams are interested in signing him.

Talent can make up for a lot of ills around the NFL world. That’s for sure.

While it’s not yet known who might be interested in Brown, it’s safe to assume we’re looking at contending teams. That type of PR hit likely isn’t worth it for teams playing out the season without any hope of making it to the playoffs.

It’s certainly something to keep an eye on as the second half of the regular season gets going around the NFL.
