Report: Rockets Will Not Match Mavericks Offer to Chandler Parsons

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Houston Rockets will not match the offer sheet forward Chandler Parsons received from the Dallas Mavericks. The signing of Trevor Ariza indicated that Houston was moving in this direction, but it appears that Parsons is now officially a member of the Mavericks.

Parsons had signed a three-year, $46 million offer sheet with the Mavericks late last week. Houston had a three-day window to match the offer, but decided that his contract wasn’t worth future salary cap flexibility.

He now joins a loaded frontcourt with Dirk Nowitzki and Tyson Chandler in Dallas. Parsons averaged 16.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game for the Rockets in 2013-2014. He was a second-round pick out of Florida back in 2011.
