Report: Rockets, Mavericks Talking Sign-and-Trade For Chandler Parsons

The Dallas Mavericks have yet to offically submit their three-year, $46 million offer sheet for Chandler Parsons to the Houston Rockets. Once they do, the Rockets will have three days to match the offer sheet. Until they submit said offer to Houston, the two teams can work out a trade.

According to  Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the two sides have been talking about a potential sign-and-trade for Parsons.

The Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets are discussing sign-and-trade scenarios for restricted free-agent forward Chandler Parsons, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

It remains to be seen who would go Houston in a potential deal between the teams, but they have been speaking for two days and nothing has come of it yet. It would be highly unusual for a team to help facilitate a free agency deal with a division and cross-state rival. This could very well be an indication that Houston isn’t prepared to match the $46 million offer and is looking to get some assets back in return.

A rival report indicates that the two sides aren’t working on a sign-and-trade and Houston has the offer sheet. Such is the case with NBA free agency this year.
