Reds pull off trade for Matt Harvey

The New York Mets have a trade partner for recently DFA’d pitcher Matt Harvey, as the Cincinnati Reds have pulled off a trade for the former ace.

The San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers have both been linked to a Harvey trade, but the Reds pulled it off in the end, with a little help from New York.

The former ace has fallen on hard times lately on the mound, earning a 7.00 ERA and 1.56 WHIP.

He’s also had trouble off the field as well. Mets general manager Sandy Alderson recently threw Harvey under the bus as well after reports of partying emerged, so it’s pretty remarkable that any team is willing to give up assets for the aging former star.
