The Boston Red Sox have decided on a new pitching coach after reassigning Dana LeVangie to another role following a horrible 2019 season.

According to multiple media reports, Boston has hired former MLB pitcher Dave Bush for that role.

Bush, 39, pitched for parts of nine seasons with three different teams. His most success came during a five-year stint with the Milwaukee Brewers that saw Bush pitch to a 46-53 record with a 4.80 ERA in 152 games (144 starts).

Since retiring from baseball, Bush has spent time as an envoy coach for MLB International, acting as the pitching coach for national teams from China and South Africa.

Bush joined the Red Sox’ organization back in 2016 as a pitching development analyst. This will be his first full-time coaching role in the bigs.
