Rays pitcher Jason Adam wins arbitration case

Right-hander Jason Adam won his arbitration case with the Rays, the Tampa Bay Times reported Saturday.

Adam, 31, will earn $1.775 million this season rather than the $1.55 million the team had offered.

Adam went 2-3 with eight saves and a career-best 1.56 ERA in 67 relief appearances in his first season with the Rays in 2022. He struck out 75 batters in 63 1/3 innings.

He is 8-7 with a 3.30 ERA in 146 career games (zero starts) with the Kansas City Royals (2018), Toronto Blue Jays (2019), Chicago Cubs (2020-21) and Tampa Bay.
