Report: Ray Rice could join Ravens staff in 2019

The Baltimore Ravens are shaking things up this Friday ahead of Super Bowl LII. The team just announced that general manager Ozzie Newsome plans to step down after the 2018 season. This would leave Eric DeCosta in charge of the team’s roster and other managerial duties.

Now, another interesting report has emerged on this front. According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, DeCosta may bring former Ravens running back Ray Rice back in some capacity.

This is very interesting. Rice’s NFL career on the field has been long done. However, joining the Ravens staff is a whole different story.

Since the infamous domestic violence elevator incident took place in 2014, Rice has taken several positive steps in bettering his life. This has included counseling and organizing charitable events in his local area.

It should be interesting to see what type of reactions this latest news garners. Rice last played with the Ravens in 2013 after being drafted in the second round in 2008.
