The Baltimore Ravens plan to sign veteran running back Kenyan Drake, ESPN reported Tuesday.
Drake, 28, will visit the Ravens and undergo a physical exam Tuesday, one week after being cut by the Las Vegas Raiders.
He missed the Raiders’ final five games in 2021 with a broken right ankle after gaining 545 yards from scrimmage with three touchdowns in 12 games (two starts).
Baltimore has question marks in the backfield heading into the Sept. 11 season opener at the New York Jets.
Starter J.K. Dobbins is coming back from a torn ACL and backup Gus Edwards will miss at least the first four games with a knee injury.
The Raiders absorbed a $3.6 million salary cap hit this year and a $4.4 million hit in 2023 by releasing Drake, who signed a two-year, $11 million deal in March 2021.
Drake has rushed for 3,384 yards and 29 touchdowns and has 199 catches for 1,535 yards and seven scores in 89 games (39 starts) with the Miami Dolphins (2016-19), Arizona Cardinals (2019-20) and Raiders. Miami drafted him in the third round in 2016.
