Report: Rams WR Brandin Cooks traded to Texans

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams are reportedly trading receiver Brandin Cooks to the Houston Texans, who are in the process of making the deal happen per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

The Rams have been cleaning house all offseason, and Cooks has been on the trade block for a while now. So it is in no way shocking that he was moved. That Houston is the team making the deal is also not that surprising after the Texans stunningly shipped DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals last month.

However, the compensation is a bit surprising because Houston reportedly gave up a second-round pick to land Cooks.

This isn’t to say that Cooks isn’t good. But after the paltry return the Texans got for moving Hopkins the math doesn’t add up.

Until last season, during which Cooks suffered a concussion, the former Oregon State product had put together four straight 1,000-plus-yard seasons playing with the New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots and Rams, catching 29 touchdowns in that span.
