The Oakland Raiders are looking to upgrading their defense. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the team is close to signing linebacker Tahir Whitehead.

Whitehead has potential to be one of the better under-the-radar signings of the 2018 free agent class.
As a member of the Detroit Lions in 2017, he picked up 110 tackles, recovered four fumbles, eight stuffs, and tallied both an interception and a sack.
Whitehead may not be the sexiest signing of the free agent class. But he should be a nice upgrade to a defense that was, across the board, one of the NFL’s worst in 2017.
