Report: Potential top-15 pick Marquise Brown had surgery for Lisfranc injury

Oklahoma Sooners product Marquise Brown will not be able to participate in the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine or his pro day due to foot surgery last month.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Hollywood Brown had surgery for a Lisfranc injury last month, but he is expected to be ready for training camp this summer.

This injury was a big setback to Brown late in the season. He was carted into the locker room during the Big 12 Championship Game, and he was unable to make anything happen in the CFP Semifinal due to the foot injury.

Because Brown isn’t a big receiver and teams likely already had at least some concern about whether he can win off the line in press coverage, this injury could certainly cause his stock to drop a bit heading into the draft. However, his production at Oklahoma (75 receptions for 1,318 yards and 10 touchdowns last year) dictates he’ll likely still be a first-round pick.
