Report: Pistons offer Reggie Jackson and a first-round pick for Eric Bledsoe

This might very well be the best deal that Phoenix Suns could hope for. According to Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders, the Detroit Pistons have offered up guard Reggie Jackson and a first-round pick in exchange for the embattled Eric Bledsoe.

This follows a report from earlier on Thursday indicating that Detroit was interested in Bledsoe with Jackson being the player dangled as trade bait (more on that here).

But adding a first-round pick to the mix changes the dynamic a bit here. We’re not sure if it is of the protected variety, which could make all the difference in the world.

Despite getting off to a hot start this season, Detroit is seen as nothing more than a bottom-end playoff team. In fact, the Pistons could be picking in the lottery again next June.

For their part, the Suns reportedly want to get another team involved in the trade. That would likely include said team picking up Jackson and his five-year, $80 million contract.

One thing is readily apparent here. Phoenix will move Bledsoe at some point soon. How said trade works out remains to be seen.
