Markieff Morris

The Detroit Pistons and forward Markieff Morris have reportedly come to an agreement on a contract buyout, making him a free agent, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Morris, 30, has been getting less action than he’d like of late as the Pistons have made a concerted effort to get their younger players more playing time. He was not in the lineup due to a coach’s decision on Thursday, which may have prompted this move.

Appearing in 44 games this season for Detroit, Morris has averaged 11 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. He’ll likely land with a new team soon as contenders look to bolster their lineups for the playoff push.
