Report: Peyton Manning Likely to Announce Plans to Play in 2015

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is preparing to potentially announce plans to return to the team for a fourth season.

The future Hall of Famer had been non-committal since Denver fell to the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Divisional Playoffs.

This report by ESPN’s Chris Mortensen indicates that not only will Manning likely announce his plans to return this upcoming week, he’s not prepared to signify 2015 as his swan song—much like some high-profile athletes have done recently.

The questions surrounding a potential Manning retirement took on a new life when Denver fired head coach John Fox and replaced him with an offensive-minded coach in the form of Gary Kubiak. At his age, Manning was likely worried about changing offensive schemes this late in his career.

Fortunately for those of us who love watching Manning play, Kubiak has indicated that he’s open to implementing any scheme that fits Manning’s skill set. That is to say, Manning will have a ton of input regarding the type of offense Denver runs. In that case, not much has changed over the years.
