Report: Patriots trade WR Demaryius Thomas to the Jets

Brian Fluharty-USA TODAY Sports

The New England Patriots are making a rare trade within the division. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, New England has dealt wide receiver Demaryius Thomas to the New York Jets for a 2021 sixth-round pick.

This move comes on the very same day that New England made the Antonio Brown signing official.

It’s clear that Thomas was not going to remain with the team after reports surfaced that the Pats were signing Brown.

New England signed Thomas during the offseason, mere months after he suffered a torn Achilles as a member of the Houston Texans.

A four-time Pro Bowler himself, Thomas heads to a receiver-needy Jets team in an attempt to resurrect his now-fledgling career.
