Report: Patriots to ‘be aggressive’ in trade market for a top WR

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

All kinds of interesting rumors have been surfacing during the NFL Scouting Combine. One such rumor suggests that the New England Patriots are in the market for a trade looking for a top wide receiver.

Immediately, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown and a disgruntled New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. come to mind.

In regards to Brown, the Patriots would have to offer up quite a hefty bounty to convince the Steelers to hand their top wideout over to another contending AFC franchise.

When it comes to the Patriots trying to acquire OBJ, who would come from the NFC East, this is not out of the realm of possibility.

Perhaps the Patriots have neither one of these two elite receivers in mind. Soon enough, we will see if anything concrete comes of this. When it comes to the Patriots, we never know what cards Bill Belichick is holding in his hand.
