Report: Patriots sign another tight end, Lance Kendricks, ahead of camp

The New England Patriots are doing everything in their power to fill the immense void at tight end left by the retirement of Rob Gronkowski.

On Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media noted the team is signing Lance Kendricks. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Kendricks agreed to a one-year deal.

Kendricks last played for the Green Bay Packers last year, catching 19 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown.

Though he’s never been a star, Kendricks has been a productive player in the NFL for nearly a decade. His best season arguably came in 2016 as a member of the Los Angeles Rams when he caught 50 passes for 499 yards. In previous campaigns, Kendricks had seasons in which he caught four and five touchdowns.
