Report: Patriots finalizing deal for WR Kenny Britt

Cleveland Browns receiver Kenny Britt

Of course it’s the New England Patriots nabbing Kenny Britt off the scrap heap. According to ESPN’s Field Yates, via Adam Schefter, New England is finalizing a deal to bring the embattled receiver into the fold for the stretch run.

After watching Monday night’s debacle in Miami, this isn’t all that shocking, to be honest. Tom Brady was not sharp, but his receiving corps utterly failed him.

Britt was released by the Cleveland Browns when John Dorsey came on board as the new general manager. He cleared waivers and was free to sign with any team in the NFL.

Before being released he didn’t do much for the Browns, catching just 18 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns. However, last year he caught 68 passes for 1,002 yards and five touchdowns, which is the version New England surely hopes it is landing.
