The New England Patriots have reportedly improved their wide receiver group, claiming former first-round pick Michael Floyd off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals.

Floyd was just recently waived by the Cardinals after being arrested for a DUI earlier in the week.
It’s the type of move the Patriots have made in the past. This won’t cost the team much more than $1 million without any compensation heading the Cardinals’ way.
And in reality, the big-bodied Floyd is something New England desperately needs in the mix with Rob Gronkowski lost for the season.
A first-round pick back in 2012, Floyd has caught 33 passes for 446 yards and four touchdowns this season.
He’s slated to become a free agent following the season. This means if the Patrots decided not to entertain the idea of bringing him back, they would likely receive a compensation pick in return.
At the very least, Floyd now has a three-game window to prove the Pats he’s worthy of being on the team over the long term.
